Winding capacitance cancellation for high-frequency EMI

This technology solves a longstanding problem in inductor design: at high frequencies, the tiny unintended capacitances that exist between wire turns and between the wire and the core cause inductors to stop working as intended, creating interference and signal degradation. The invention uses a carefully arranged network of inductors combined with small coupling capacitors to cancel out these parasitic capacitances, rather than just reducing them. This works for both the differential-mode and common-mode filtering functions that EMI filters must perform, and it accommodates multi-phase power supply designs and varied inductance values. The result is an inductor or EMI filter that maintains clean, effective performance at much higher frequencies than conventional designs allow.
