Dual-source power conversion module for reliable backup supply

This technology describes a power conversion circuit that draws from two energy sources connected in series — for example, two batteries — and intelligently routes power to a load depending on whether each source is performing normally. When the primary source is healthy, a boost converter steps up its voltage to drive the output. When the primary source falters or fails, the circuit automatically switches to a buck-boost configuration that draws from the secondary source and reverses polarity as needed to maintain stable output. The result is a power supply that stays operational and regulated even as individual energy sources degrade or fail.
