This technology uses irreversible electroporation (IRE) — a method that delivers precisely calibrated electrical pulses to destroy cells — delivered directly through a tissue's existing blood vessels rather than through external probes. For treating tumors, electrical current is threaded through the vasculature to kill cancer cells deep inside organs that are otherwise hard to reach surgically. The same technique can also be applied outside the body to strip all cells from a donor organ while leaving the blood vessel network intact, creating a clean biological scaffold that a patient's own cells can repopulate with minimal immune rejection risk.
